Border guard Mykola, with the call sign "Uncle," is 25 years old. He has been serving in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for the last 5 years.

Mykola was born and raised in the border town of Sokyriany in the Chernivtsi region, so he didn't think long about choosing a profession. Although initially, the guy managed to get a cooking specialty, but, as they say, it didn't suit him.

In the State Border Guard Service, Mykola tried himself in all directions: from a driver to a border detail "Document Inspection." But he says he found himself in cynology. The German shepherd Kira, with whom the border guard works, is trained to search for weapons and explosives. She has good performance on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.

When they start forming the consolidated border guard unit in the Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment to be sent to the eastern front, Mykola voluntarily joined it, reluctantly leaving his beloved dog at home. "Many of my friends went there, I could not stay behind," the guy says.

On the front, the "Chernivtsi" consolidated border guard unit performed tasks on one of the hottest fronts – the Bahmut front.

During the preparation for combat missions, Mykola mastered the American automatic grenade launcher MK-19. "It is similar to the old AGS, only better. It works silently and accurately. The enemy never understands where the fire has come from," Mykola says.

"A cool toy," the border guard says about his grenade launcher. “You can throw grenades into the pockets of the russians!"

With the help of UAV correction, border guards-grenadiers inflicted considerable losses on the enemy. However, they were actively sought by the enemy in response afterwards. "We have applied tactics similar to that used in mortar units. Once we have finished shooting, we proceed to shelter. The main thing is to do everything in time."

After the victory, Mykola plans to marry his beloved girl. He proposed to a girl just a few days before the full-scale invasion of the enemy. "No, not now. Conscience does not allow. Only after the victory..."
